Just one day after Loblaw announced its new rapid delivery service with Door Dash, Walmart launched its own “Walmart Now” delivery partnership with Instacart.

As of August, Loblaw customers in Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary will be able to order select items through PC Express rapid delivery using the DoorDash app for delivery in 30 minutes or less.

Customers will also be able to order items through DoorDash from all Loblaw banner stores, including Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore and Shoppers Drug Mart beginning this month.

Walmart Now is a pilot program limited to the Greater Toronto Area.  It will allow customers to select from almost 4,000 products including both grocery and personal care items.  The orders will be picked up at one of ten Walmart locations that are able to deliver to 40% of the GTA within the 30 minute window.

Interestingly, Loblaw already has a grocery delivery partnership with Instacart, but the 30-minute delivery window will be exclusive to DoorDash.
